Mass Rallies Erupt across Europe against Israeli Atrocities in Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of thousands of demonstrators across Europe on Saturday denounced Israel’s ongoing massacres, starvation policies, and occupation plans in Gaza, demanding an immediate end to a genocide enabled by Western governments.
In London, vast crowds joined the 30th National March for Palestine, rallying from Russell Square to the Prime Minister’s Office under the banner “Stop Starving Gaza.”
The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC), a lead organizer, wrote on X that “Israel is starving Palestinians in Gaza to death” and urged the British government to act decisively to end “Israel’s genocide.”
Protesters, waving Palestinian flags, accused the British leadership of complicity in the atrocities, chanting slogans condemning both Tel Aviv and its Western backers.
In Stockholm, hundreds gathered in Odenplan to oppose Israeli plans to seize Gaza City.
Demonstrators carried signs denouncing the occupation and US support for Israel before marching toward the Foreign Ministry.
Israel’s security cabinet had approved prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s controversial occupation scheme just a day earlier.
In Amsterdam, large crowds condemned both the plan and Western governments’ enabling role, demanding immediate and unrestricted humanitarian aid into Gaza.
The Gaza Health Ministry reported Friday that in the past 24 hours alone, 21 Palestinians were killed and 341 wounded while trying to collect aid.
Since May 27, at least 1,743 have died and over 12,590 have been injured in such incidents.
The Ministry also confirmed that famine and malnutrition claimed 11 more lives, including children, in the last day, bringing the starvation toll to 212 — nearly half of them children — under Israel’s siege.
In Spain, protesters rallied in multiple cities including Madrid, where chants of “End the genocide” echoed through the streets.
Some demonstrators banged pots and pans in protest at Israel’s deliberate starvation of Gaza’s population.
Thousands assembled at Geneva’s Jardin Anglais to condemn Israel’s famine-inducing blockade.
Protesters staged a sit-in, shouting in English, French, and Arabic, and demanded an end to all international support for Israel’s crimes against humanity.
Israel resumed its military assault on Gaza on March 18, killing 9,862 people and injuring 40,809, breaking a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal agreed in January.
In November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former war minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on Gaza.
