Gaza Patients Facing ‘Certain Death’ As Fuel Runs Out, Israel Attacks Surge
TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Huge plumes of smoke have been rising from Gaza City as deadly Israeli air attacks intensified and ground forces advance, killing 18 in the city and four elsewhere.
At least 38 Palestinians, including three aid seekers, have been killed and 190 injured in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours, according to the enclave’s Health Ministry.
Gaza’s Health Ministry has warned that patients are facing “certain death” as hospitals in the besieged territory may have to shutter vital departments within “a few days” due to fuel shortages, Al Jazeera reported.
Three children have died from malnutrition in southern Gaza, a source at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said.
UNRWA said 12 of its premises in Gaza City, including nine schools and two health centers, were hit by Israeli strikes over six days earlier this month.
At least two medical workers have been injured in Israeli shelling that destroyed the main medical Centre in Gaza City, according to the Palestinian Medical Relief Society, a medical charity, Wafa reported.
The report said Israeli forces prevented crews from evacuating equipment and supplies, adding that the center provided vital services, including treating the wounded, cancer patients, as well as handling blood donations.
The charity said the troops are besieging another center in the city’s Tal al-Hawa area and have destroyed another clinic in the Shati refugee camp.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 65,382 people and wounded 166,985 since October 2023. Thousands more are believed to be buried under the rubble.
