TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi had a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi on Monday to review the latest state of cooperation between Tehran and the IAEA.

In the meeting, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Araqchi underlined Iran’s goodwill and responsible stance on the nuclear issue.

He stressed that further progress depends on the accountability of other parties and an end to their excessive demands and misuse of the UN Security Council to pressure Iran.

Grossi, in turn, commended Iran’s positive approach in its dealings with the IAEA, particularly the Cairo Understanding.

He also emphasized the importance of diplomatic efforts by all relevant actors to prevent escalation and maintain dialogue.

On September 10, Iran and the IAEA finalized an agreement on the continuation of cooperation under new conditions.

The agreement was reached in Cairo following weeks of negotiations.
