40 Rapid Response Teams Searching for Iranian President’s Helicopter
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) said 40 rescue and rapid response teams have been deployed to the area where a helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has had an accident.
Pir-Hossein Koulivand said the rescue and rapid response teams are operating only on the ground considering the weather conditions and the topography of the region.
IRCS teams from East Azarbaijan and the neighboring provinces have been dispatched to the accident zone, he added.
Koulivand noted that drones have been also flown for the search operation, but the dreadful weather has obstructed aerial missions.
The accident location is an impassable mountainous zone, he stated.
The exact location of the accident involving the helicopter carrying President Raisi and his entourage is reportedly near the Ozi village, located in the Arasbaran woods in the northwestern province of East Azarbaijan.
