Iran-Saudi Ties Key to Regional Stability, Diplomats Say

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia stressed the key role of cooperation between Tehran and Riyadh in strengthening regional stability and security through dialogue, coordination, and joint efforts to address crises.

The meeting between Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Saudi counterpart Faisal bin Farhan took place on the sidelines of an extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah on Monday, held at the request of Iran and several other countries to discuss the situation in Palestine and the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

In their talks, the two sides reviewed the latest regional and international developments, particularly the catastrophic situation in Gaza and the ongoing Israeli atrocities against the Palestinian people.

They emphasized the need for immediate action to halt the Israeli aggression, facilitate humanitarian aid, and counter the occupation projects of the Zionist regime.

Their discussions also covered the latest developments in bilateral relations between Tehran and Riyadh.

Araqchi and bin Farhan expressed satisfaction with the recent positive interaction and called for the continuation of consultations and closer cooperation in the political, economic, security, and regional spheres.

They also highlighted the pivotal role of Iran-Saudi collaboration in strengthening regional stability and shaping an order based on dialogue, mutual respect, and non-interference in the internal affairs of countries.
