Araqchi Pays Tribute to Doctors, Healthcare Workers amid Challenges
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, on National Doctors’ Day and Avicenna’s birth anniversary, praised physicians for their sacred mission of healing not only bodies but also the soul, highlighting their sacrifices in crises and wars.
In a post on his X account on Saturday, Araqchi praised Iranian physicians and healthcare workers for their unwavering dedication despite hardships and inhumane sanctions, noting that they have always been ready to sacrifice for the sake of life.
The foreign minister highlighted the role of doctors both on the battlefield, where they stood alongside soldiers, and in times of crisis and disease, when they placed the health of the people above their own comfort.
Araqchi added that medical professionals have remained true to their oath, from the days of Khorramshahr and Ahvaz (Iraqi-imposed war in 1980s) to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent 12-day war, consistently serving as a refuge for the people.
The foreign minister extended congratulations to the Iranian medical community and paid tribute to the martyrs of the healthcare sector, stressing that their memory will remain a guiding light and source of inspiration in the path of service and resilience.
