Nearly 55 Million Doses of COVID Vaccine Injected in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Health Ministry said on Thursday that some 55 million jabs of COVID-19 vaccines have been injected across the country.
New figures released by the Health Ministry of Iran indicate that more than 54.98 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been administered in the country as of Thursday, with over 38.7 million people having received the first dose of the vaccine.
While more than 32.19 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far, the total number of people tested positive has exceeded 5,572,900 following the detection of 14,078 new cases since Wednesday.
Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 2,144 patients have been admitted to the hospital.
At least 5,031,600 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran.
The ministry also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 120,428, saying the disease has taken the lives of 268 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 5,938 coronavirus patients are in the intensive care units.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 234 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.79 million.
