Iran Condemns Israeli Attacks on Yemen
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry’s spokesperson condemned the Zionist regime’s military strikes on Yemeni capital Sana’a as a war crime and crime against humanity.
In a statement on Sunday, Esmaeil Baqaei strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes on Sana’a, which targeted key infrastructure including a power plant.
He expressed condolences over the martyrdom of several Yemeni civilians during the assault and wished a swift recovery for the injured.
He also denounced the Zionist regime’s repeated attacks on Yemen’s economic and civilian infrastructure –such as airports, ports, power plants, and food warehouses– as war crimes and crimes against humanity, saying they clearly demonstrate the regime’s hostility toward development and prosperity of the regional nations.
Praising the Yemeni people’s solidarity with the oppressed people of Palestine, the Iranian spokesman stressed that all Islamic countries share a responsibility to take urgent action to stop the genocide in Gaza and to assist its people in the face of famine imposed by the Zionist regime.
He underlined that confronting genocide and war crimes in Gaza and the West Bank is a legal and moral duty of all governments, particularly the Muslim nations.
Baqaei expressed hope that the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s foreign ministers in Jeddah would address the matter with due seriousness.
The Israeli regime bombed the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Sunday, targeting an oil facility and a power plant. The Zionist regime said it also targeted a presidential palace in the Yemeni capital, which it claimed is located on a military complex.
At least six people were killed and 86 others were injured in the attacks, according to Al Masirah.
The strikes came two days after the Yemeni forces claimed a missile launch against Israel –part of a campaign that the Houthis say aims to pressure the Zionist regime to end its atrocities and siege in Gaza.
