Iranian FM Visits Saudi Arabia for OIC Meeting on Gaza Crisis

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi traveled to Saudi Arabia on Sunday to participate in an extraordinary ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on the ongoing Gaza crisis.

Heading a diplomatic delegation, Araqchi is attending the Jeddah gathering where OIC foreign ministers are set to discuss the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and coordinate plans for the immediate delivery of aid to the enclave, which has been under siege by the Israeli regime for years.

The ministers are also expected to address the political and judicial dimensions of Israel’s plan for the permanent occupation of Gaza City.

Israeli forces have intensified military operations across Gaza, killing at least 63 Palestinians—including children and aid workers—on Sunday alone. The regime’s efforts to forcibly eject medical personnel from Gaza City have drawn widespread condemnation, as the military seeks to seize control of the city and displace around one million residents.

Thousands of people have taken to the streets in cities worldwide following a United Nations report officially declaring famine in northern Gaza, a crisis compounded by months of Israel’s blockade of humanitarian supplies, including food and water.

According to reports, Israeli attacks have killed at least 62,622 people and wounded more than 157,673 since October 2023.
