Armed Clashes Erupt in West Bank As Israeli Forces Intensify Raids

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Palestinian youth exchanged gunfire with Israeli occupation forces in the town of Sa’ir, amid a sweeping military campaign that has seen mass arrests and house-to-house raids across the occupied West Bank.

Local Palestinian sources reported that armed confrontations broke out between resistance youth and Israeli troops in Sa’ir, north of Hebron (Al-Khalil).

The clashes came as Israeli forces stormed multiple towns and villages in the West Bank in recent hours, detaining hundreds of Palestinians.

Palestinian media published footage showing heavily armed Israeli soldiers raiding homes, conducting aggressive searches, and arresting scores of young men.

At least 70 Palestinians were rounded up in the villages of Abu al-Asja and Raboud, south of Hebron.

Raids also targeted the towns of Yabad in Jenin, Deir Istiya in northwest Salfit, Shaqba west of Ramallah — where soldiers fired tear gas — and Abu Dis east of Jerusalem al-Quds, where troops launched stun grenades.

Other areas hit by Israeli raids included Beit Ummar north of Hebron, Hajja east of Qalqilya, the village of Surra west of Nablus — where three youths were arrested — Beit al-Roush al-Tahta and al-Burj near Dura, and the main street of Beit Iba in western Nablus.

In Shuyukh al-Arroub, north of Hebron, Israeli forces fired flares during the operation.

Palestinian outlets condemned the ongoing Israeli campaign as part of a wider policy of collective punishment, carried out with full backing from Washington, which continues to shield Tel Aviv from accountability at international forums.
