Iran’s FM Warns against EU Pressure
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi cautioned the European states to avoid misusing international bodies to impose pressure on Iran, stressing that any unlawful action against the country’s nuclear program carries serious consequences.
In a meeting with Austrian Foreign Minister Beate Meinl-Reisinger, held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday, Araqchi reiterated Iran’s responsible stance on the nuclear issue and condemned the attacks by the Israeli regime and the United States on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
He said the three European countries involved in nuclear negotiations –the UK, France and Germany- as well as other UN Security Council members, should acknowledge their responsibilities and refrain from politically motivated measures.
For her part, the Austrian foreign minister underlined the need to maintain diplomacy as the primary path for resolving international challenges and affirmed her country’s willingness to assist in that regard.
