Turkey Urges Swift Action to Rein In Israel

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed the need to put an immediate end to the Israeli regime’s atrocities, saying the region can’t stand to see another war.

In a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi on the sidelines of a ministerial meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul on Saturday, President Erdogan expressed confidence that Iran’s national unity will help it weather the war of aggression imposed by the Zionist regime.

Pointing to Turkey’s increased contacts in order to cease the fighting and pave the way for the restoration of diplomacy, the Turkish president warned that the region cannot tolerate another war and stressed that Israel must be stopped immediately.

He also described dialogue as the sole way to resolve the conflicts over Iran’s nuclear program, saying Turkey is prepared to play a role and facilitate that process.

For his part, Araqchi praised Turkey for condemning the Israeli regime’s aggression against Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity and for its emphasis on solidarity and unity among the Islamic countries against the Zionist regime.

The top Iranian diplomat denounced the belligerent and expansionist nature of the Zionist regime as the root cause of instability in the region.

Araqchi also called on the international community to unanimously condemn the brazen Israeli aggression against Iran and remind the UN Security Council of its responsibility to stop and act against the aggressor.

The Iranian foreign minister also highlighted the role of major and influential Muslim countries in exerting pressure on the Zionist regime and its sponsors.

The Zionist regime waged an unprovoked war of aggression against Iran on June 13. It has carried out airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear, military and residential sites that resulted in the martyrdom of over 400 Iranians, including top military commanders, nuclear scientists and ordinary citizens.

The Iranian military forces started counterattacks immediately afterwards. They Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force has carried out 18 waves of retaliatory missile strikes against the Zionist regime as of June 21 as part of Operation True Promise 3.
