Armed Forces of Iran Stand by Qatar after Israeli Attack on Doha: Top General

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s highest-ranking military commander expressed solidarity with Qatar following the Zionist regime’s fatal airstrike on Doha, stressing that the Iranian Armed Forces will never abandon Qatari brothers in the face of enemies.

In a telephone conversation with Qatar’s Minister of State for Defense Affairs Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani on Thursday, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi denounced the Israeli regime’s assault on Doha as a criminal and terrorist act.

“The Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran will never hesitate to support our Qatari brothers,” Mousavi stressed, noting that the bonds between the two nations have always been based on brotherhood.

He underlined that Iran will not leave the Qatari nation alone against enemies, particularly the “criminal Zionist regime” which, he said, has been the main source of tension and instability in the region.

The senior general expressed the readiness of Iran’s military forces to cooperate with Qatar at every level, assuring Doha that “the government, nation, and Armed Forces of Iran will stand by Qatar until the end.”

Mousavi also denounced the “unconditional backing of the West, particularly the United States” as the main reason emboldening the Zionist regime in its crimes against Palestinians and aggressions against other regional states.

The Iranian general said the latest Israeli attack on Qatar could not have been carried out without Washington’s green light, adding that the whole world knows that without Western support, the criminal Israeli regime could not survive.

For his part, Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani described the Israeli strike on Qatar as an act of terrorism and expressed gratitude to Iran for its solidarity, especially the phone call between the Iranian president and the Emir of Qatar.

He said the Israeli regime disregards all principles and norms, noting that the assault amounted to crossing every red line and violating international law and diplomacy.

The Qatari minister once again hailed Iran’s positions both in the past and in the recent incident, expressing hope that Tehran and Doha would hold future meetings to discuss practical solutions for countering such aggressions.
