Turkish President Backs Iran’s Right to Self-Defense, Slams Israel’s “State Terrorism”

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan voiced strong support for Iran’s right to self-defense amid ongoing Israeli aggression, calling Israel a "terror state" and likening Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Wednesday declared that Iran has the legal and moral right to defend itself against Israeli acts of aggression.

“It is entirely natural, legitimate, and lawful for Iran to defend itself against Israel's banditry and state terrorism,” Erdogan said during a speech to the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party in Ankara.

His remarks come as Israel intensifies military operations targeting Iran.

Stressing the gravity of the conflict, Erdogan also condemned the Israeli prime minister, stating, “Netanyahu has long surpassed the tyrant Hitler in the crime of genocide. We hope their fates will not be the same.”

He emphasized Turkey’s diplomatic and humanitarian efforts to stop Israel’s “inhumane aggression” in Gaza and beyond.

“We are doing everything we can to stop this inhumane aggression against Gaza, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, and our neighbor Iran,” he said.

Erdogan also held Israel’s Western backers and silent partners responsible for the ongoing bloodshed.

“The blood of massacred civilians, murdered babies, and children is splattered not only on the hands and faces of those who support Israel’s arrogance, but also on those who remain silent,” he warned.

Addressing concerns about Turkey’s national security, Erdogan said the country remains vigilant and prepared.

“We are closely monitoring Israel’s terrorist attacks on Iran. All our institutions are on alert over the potential effects of these attacks on Turkey,” he said.

He reassured Turkish citizens that the government is ready for any escalation.
