Israeli Airstrike Massacres Over 50 in Gaza Residential Building

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - An Israeli airstrike obliterated a residential building in northern Gaza’s Jabalia al-Balad, killing or leaving missing more than 50 Palestinians, Gaza’s Civil Defense reported Friday.

The Thursday night attack, described as a “horrific massacre,” flattened a four-story home, trapping dozens under rubble.

Rescue efforts stalled due to a lack of heavy machinery, leaving survivors’ fates uncertain.

Gaza’s Civil Defense said the death toll from the strike on the residential building exceeded 50, counting both confirmed deaths and those still missing.

Civil Defense crews reported recovering four bodies and rescuing six people from the debris.  However, over 50 individuals remain trapped beneath the collapsed structure.

“Crews described the scene as a horrific massacre,” the agency stated, highlighting the scale of destruction.

Earlier that night, medical sources told Anadolu that six Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike on the Dardouna family’s home in the same area.

Elsewhere, an Israeli bombing east of Khan Younis claimed eight lives.

In Jabalia, three bodies, including two children, were recovered after another Israeli strike on a house.

Rescue operations remain halted, with Civil Defense citing a lack of equipment to dig through the debris.

Israel’s relentless war on Gaza has killed at least 53,762 Palestinians and wounded 122,197, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

The Government Media Office reported over 61,700 deaths, with thousands more presumed dead under rubble.

Since renewed Israeli operations began on March 18, following the collapse of a ceasefire with Hamas in place since Jan. 19, 3,613 Palestinians have been killed and 10,156 injured, per Gaza health authorities.
