Israeli Minister Uses Lies to Resume Assault on Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli war minister Israel Katz intensified Tel Aviv’s aggression by ordering fresh airstrikes on Tehran, fabricating a ceasefire breach as a pretext to prolong war against Iran.
Katz claimed he had ordered the military to strike targets in Tehran, accusing Iran of launching missiles in breach of a ceasefire agreement.
Katz said Israeli forces would respond “forcefully” to what he described as violations by Iran, targeting key sites “in the heart of Tehran,” according to Israeli media.
Iranian outlets dismissed the accusations, affirming that no missiles were launched following the announcement of the ceasefire.
The claims by the Zionist regime came hours after Israeli military sources told domestic media that two ballistic missiles were fired by Iran and intercepted.
Iran’s Supreme National Security Council earlier said the country’s armed forces had acted with restraint and only responded proportionally to previous attacks on its territory.
“The armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, without any trust in the words of the enemy and with their hands on the trigger, are ready to deliver a decisive and deterring response to any violating act by the enemy,” the council said.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi reiterated that Iran never agreed to a ceasefire, stating that attacks would stop only if Israel halted its "illegal aggression" by 4am local time.
Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the regime had accepted a ceasefire proposal presented by US President Donald Trump.
Trump announced that the truce was in effect and urged both sides to comply, despite simultaneous Israeli strikes on Iranian positions.
Tehran has warned that Israeli and American forces will be met with further retaliation if they continue coordinated acts of aggression.
Iranian analyst Abbas Aslani of the Center for Middle East Strategic Studies said the war was clearly a joint campaign by Israel and the US aimed at undermining Iran’s sovereignty and nuclear infrastructure.
He said the enemy’s goals—including “regime change” and destruction of the nuclear program—had failed.
“Iran relocated its nuclear material to a secure location. Its scientific knowledge remains intact. Its missile capability was not neutralized—it struck Israeli targets just today,” Aslani told Al Jazeera.
He added that Iran remains cautious about ceasefire deals, citing Israel’s long history of violating truces in Gaza and Lebanon.
He stressed that no meaningful negotiations with the US are possible in the near term while Washington continues to support military aggression against Iran.
