Israeli Forces Slaughter Dozens of Starving Civilians at Gaza Aid Points
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Israeli occupation forces massacred dozens of Palestinians awaiting food aid in Gaza on Tuesday, intensifying what rights groups call a deliberate campaign of collective punishment.
Israeli forces and unmanned drones opened fire on aid seekers at distribution centers across Gaza, murdering scores of civilians and injuring hundreds.
Palestinian medical sources confirmed at least 50 martyrs near aid points and 21 more slain elsewhere in the besieged enclave.
One of the deadliest incidents occurred on Salah al-Din Street south of Wadi Gaza, where 25 civilians were killed and over 140 wounded—62 critically.
These attacks occurred at so-called "humanitarian" sites set up by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a front project engineered by the Israeli regime and supported by the US
Hospitals including al-Awda, al-Shifa, and the Nasser Medical Complex were overwhelmed as they received wave after wave of blood-soaked bodies.
Footage verified by Al Jazeera’s Sanad agency showed scenes of horror as corpses arrived at al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat.
Israeli tanks and drones reportedly opened fire without provocation, even as Palestinians were attempting to flee.
"It was a massacre," said Ahmed Halawa, a witness. "Tanks and drones kept firing as we ran."
In a feeble attempt at damage control, the Israeli military said it was "reviewing reports" after troops opened fire near the militarized Netzarim Corridor.
Israeli claims that “suspects” were approaching soldiers have been repeatedly dismissed by eyewitnesses and humanitarian observers, who confirm these attacks are unprovoked and systematic.
Since the GHF took over food distribution in late May, more than 400 Palestinians have been killed and over 1,000 wounded at these so-called aid sites.
The GHF, rejected by the United Nations and most humanitarian organizations, has been denounced as a political tool weaponizing food and survival.
UNRWA head Philippe Lazzarini described the GHF as “an abomination” and a “death trap” that degrades desperate people rather than helps them.
Leading international legal experts and rights groups, including the International Commission of Jurists, have warned that GHF’s militarized aid operations violate international law.
TRIAL International’s Philip Grant declared the GHF model a breach of humanitarian principles and warned that those complicit in its operation risk prosecution for war crimes — including the use of starvation and forced displacement as tools of warfare.
The ongoing siege, with US approval and military backing, has turned Gaza into a killing field, where even aid is delivered with bullets.
