Imam Reza Holy Shrine Embraces AI for Health, Architecture Advancements

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Imam Reza (AS) Holy Shrine is successfully integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and information technology (IT) into healthcare and architectural projects, according to Ibrahim Daneshifar, head of the shrine's IT center.

The new initiatives aim to optimize both medical diagnostics and sustainable building design.

Daneshifar highlighted the significant role of AI in healthcare, noting, "AI is widely applied in healthcare for better processing of biological signals and diagnosing dangerous diseases."

Speaking at an academic conference hosted by Imam Reza International University, he emphasized AI’s role in optimizing the use of natural resources and creating eco-friendly designs. He said, "AI algorithms have been influential in sustainable architecture, allowing us to create designs that minimize energy and water consumption."

In the architectural domain, Daneshifar stated that AI has already led to a 30% reduction in energy consumption for buildings. "Architecture in the future cannot be imagined without AI," he added, stressing the growing importance of the technology in design and construction.

Daneshifar also pointed out that AI is not limited to modern architecture but can be applied to maintain the cultural and historical integrity of structures. "AI can help optimize designs to preserve cultural roots," he said.

At the same event, Professor Reza Mirzaei, a member of the scientific board at Islamic Azad University, stressed the need to assess the needs of pilgrims in the physical and functional spaces of the shrine. "We hope to present a suitable model using evolutionary intelligence," Mirzaei said.

Mirzaei expressed optimism for the future, noting that such conferences foster the interaction between science and art in architecture, particularly with the use of AI.
