COVID Daily Death Toll in Iran Stands at 286
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily deaths from the coronavirus in Iran rose to 286 on Saturday, increasing the total death toll since the outbreak of the pandemic to above 90,600.
Providing the latest statistics on the coronavirus infection, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said on Saturday that the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 in the country has surpassed 3,871,000 after the detection of 19,846 new cases since yesterday.
Sima Sadat Lari said the pandemic has claimed 286 lives over the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll to 90,630.
More than 3,367,270 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, Lari noted.
Among those undergoing treatment at present, 5,455 are being kept in the Intensive Care Units of medical centers because of critical health conditions, she said.
The spokeswoman also said more than 25.91 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 9.55 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 198 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.2 million.
