Iran Urges Employment of Muslim Capacities to Rein In Israel
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iranian foreign minister called for harnessing the collective capacities of Muslim nations to counter Israel’s atrocities, stressing that unity and solidarity among the Islamic countries are vital to stopping the Zionist regime’s aggression and supporting the people of Gaza.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Egyptian counterpart Badr Abdelatty held a meeting in Jeddah on Sunday ahead of an extraordinary ministerial session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), discussing bilateral ties, regional and international developments, and particularly the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
During the meeting, the two top diplomats exchanged views on the ongoing blockade of Gaza and the Israeli regime’s aggressive plans to intensify attacks and fully occupy the enclave.
They underlined the urgent need for effective action by the Islamic countries to stop genocide and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aids into the besieged enclave.
Araqchi stressed the importance of mobilizing the collective capacities of Muslim nations to counter the hostile measures of the Israeli regime.
“Solidarity and unity among the Muslim countries in the face of the common threats, especially the expansionist policies of the Israeli regime, are of critical importance. We must employ all capacities to strengthen collective cooperation and effectively confront this genocidal regime,” he said.
The Iranian minister also briefed his Egyptian counterpart on the latest developments regarding nuclear talks between Iran and the three European countries.
Both sides emphasized the need to continue consultations and coordination at bilateral, multilateral, regional, and international levels to prevent further escalation of crises and to preserve stability in the region.
