COVID-19 Cases Hospitalized in Iran below 500
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry said 495 coronavirus patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country over the past 24 hours.
The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Sunday that 495 of the 6,207 new coronavirus cases detected in the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital.
The total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 1,367,000, Sima Sadat Lari added, noting that more than 1,158,000 patients have recovered from the infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across the country.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 57,294, saying the disease has taken the lives of 69 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,106 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
The spokeswoman also said more than 8.85 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 98 million and the death toll has exceeded 2.11 million.
