Coronavirus in Iran: Some 500 New Cases Hospitalized
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s Health Ministry said 523 coronavirus patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country over the past 24 hours.
The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Sunday that 523 of the new coronavirus cases detected in the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital.
Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 1,330,000 following the detection of 6,016 new cases since yesterday.
At least 1,119,000 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman added.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 56,803, saying the disease has taken the lives of 86 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 4,374 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
The spokeswoman also said more than 8,527,300 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 94.5 million and the death toll has exceeded 2.02 million.
