Coronavirus Updates in Iran: Over 316,000 Cases Recover
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus positive cases that have recovered from the viral disease in Iran has exceeded 316,000, the Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said.
Speaking at a daily press conference on Thursday, Sima Sadat Lari said at least 316,638 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across the country.
She also put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 21,137, saying the disease has taken the lives of 117 patients over the past 24 hours.
The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has risen to 367,796 following the detection of 2,190 new cases since Wednesday noon, the spokeswoman added.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,822 patients have critical health conditions, Lari noted.
She went on to say that more than 3,138,700 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 24.3 million and the death toll has exceeded 829,000.
