Nearly 115,000 Coronavirus Patients Recover in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Some 115,000 coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry’s spokesman said Friday.
Speaking at a daily press conference, Kianoosh Jahanpoor put the death toll from the coronavirus in Iran at 7,677, saying the disease has taken the lives of 50 patients over the past 24 hours.
He also noted that at least 114,931 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far and have been discharged from hospitals across the country.
The number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has risen to 146,668 following the detection of 2,819 new cases since Thursday noon, the spokesman added.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 2,547 patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Jahanpoor noted.
He went on to say that more than 896,000 coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far.
The spokesman also noted that zero deaths have been reported in 15 provinces during the past 24 hours, while five other provinces have reported only one death from coronavirus infection each.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 5,909,000 and the death toll has exceeded 362,000.
