Iran’s Afrooz Collects Gold at 2025 World Para Athletics Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian javelin thrower Saeid Afrooz won a gold medal at the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships on Thursday.
Afrooz threw 41.52 meters at the Men's Javelin Throw F34 Final to win a gold medal as well as bettering the world record by 36 centimeters.
Colombian throwers Diego Meneses Medina and Mauricio Valencia won silver and bronze medals with 39.19m and 37.94m, respectively.
The New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships competition feature 186 medal events (101 men's, 84 women's and one mixed), 15 more than at the last edition of the championships in Kobe.
