Israeli Settlers Seize Palestinian Home in Hebron’s Old City
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Armed Israeli settlers stormed and seized a Palestinian-owned home in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron (Al-Khalil) on Sunday, further intensifying the regime’s campaign of land theft against Palestinians.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, a group of armed settlers took over a house consisting of one room and its surrounding property in the Cabari neighborhood of Hebron’s Old City.
The property belongs to Palestinian resident Akka Abdulmajid Cabari.
Witnesses said the settlers raised the Israeli flag over the occupied home.
The assault comes just weeks after settlers seized the Nasr family home in Hebron on Sept. 3.
Arif Cabir of the Human Rights Defenders Group told Anadolu that dozens of settlers from a nearby illegal outpost carried furniture and ladders toward the house before taking control.
He stressed that the property lies at the heart of a Palestinian neighborhood, turning daily life into what he called “a nightmare under settler terror.”
Hebron has long been a flashpoint of occupation.
Under the 1997 Hebron Protocol between the Palestine Liberation Organization and Israel, 80% of the city (“H1”) was to remain under Palestinian control.
The remaining 20%, including the Ibrahimi Mosque and Old City, was placed under a divided arrangement, with Palestinian civil administration but Israeli security dominance.
The latest seizure highlights what Palestinians denounce as the regime’s ongoing attempt to Judaize Hebron through violent settler expansion.
