Iran’s Freestyle Team Wins Title in World Championship after 12 Years

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran’s freestyle team claimed the title in the World Wrestling Championships after 12 years.

Iran won two gold medals in the competition in 125kg and 65kg, where Amir Hossein Zare and Rahman Amouzad emerged victorious in their final matches.

Amir Ali Azarpira in 97kg and Ahmad Javan in 61kg snatched two silver medals.

Mohammad Nokhodi in 79kg, Kamran Ghasempour in 86kg, and Amir Hossein Firouzpour in 92kg won three bronze medals.

Iran, which was already assured of winning the team title for the first time since 2013 before the night began, finished with 145 points, 11 ahead of the United States in second place. Japan finished third with 111 points.
