2025 World Wrestling Championships: Azarpira Seizes Silver
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Amir Ali Azarpira claimed a silver medal at the 97kg class of the 2025 World Wrestling Championships.
He suffered a last-gasp 4-2 loss against American wrestler Kyle in the final bout of 97kg.
Akhmed Tazhudinov of Bahrain and Arash Yoshida of Japan seized two bronze medals in the weight class.
Iran won two gold medals in the competition in 125kg and 65kg, where Amir Hossein Zare and Rahman Amouzad emerged victorious in their final matches.
Amir Ali Azarpira in 97kg and Ahmad Javan in 61kg won two silver medals.
Mohammad Nokhodi in 79kg, Kamran Ghasempour in 86kg, and Amir Hossein Firouzpour in 92kg won three bronze medals.
The 2025 World Wrestling Championships are taking place in Zagreb, Croatia, from September 13 to 21.
