Amouzad Takes Revenge on Kiyooka at 2025 World Wrestling Championships
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian freestyle wrestler Rahman Amouzad took revenge on Japan’s Kotaro Kiyooka at the 2025 World Wrestling Championships.
Amouzad, who had previously lost to Kiyooka 10-3 in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, defeated his Japanese rival 10-0 in the final of the 65 kg category.
American wrestler Real Woods and Umidjon Jalolov of Uzbekistan won two bronze medals.
In a strong run to the final, Amouzad defeated Kyrgyzstan’s Ikromzhon Khadzhimurodov 13-0, American Real Woods 12-1, and Indian Sujeet Kalkal 6-5. He then beat Canada’s Peyman Babaei 5-0 in the semifinals.
The 2025 World Wrestling Championships began on September 14 in Zagreb, Croatia and will run until September 21.
