VP Highlights Russia’s Major Role in Iran’s Foreign Policy
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref stressed the significant role of Russia in Iran’s foreign policy, pointing to the two countries’ shared interests and vast potential for cooperation across multiple sectors.
Speaking at a coordination meeting on mechanisms for expanding Iran-Russia relations, Aref described Moscow as a key partner and emphasized that the common ground between the two sides provides ample opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties.
He underscored the importance of boosting coordination through the joint cooperation commission, calling its more active engagement “crucial.”
The vice president also highlighted the significance of continued consultations between Tehran and Moscow in international forums. He urged the utilization of all available capacities to expand relations, particularly through closer engagement of the private sectors and chambers of commerce in both countries.
Aref further underlined the importance of deepening ties with the neighboring states, especially the members of the Eurasian Economic Union, including Russia. He noted that the Iranian administration is firmly committed to elevating relations with those countries on the basis of their shared history and civilizational bonds.
