Surrender Impossible for Iran: President
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran will never bow to foreign pressure, President Masoud Pezeshkian said, stressing that surrender is not in the nation’s character and Iranians will stand firm in defense of their country to the very last breath.
Addressing members, coaches, and officials of the national freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams in a ceremony on Tuesday, Pezeshkian hailed the athletes as role models for Iranian youth. “The world is pressuring us to surrender, but surrender does not exist within us. We will remain for Iran to the last drop of our lives and never lower our heads,” the president said.
Pointing to the sanctions and economic restrictions imposed on Iran, the president emphasized the need for self-awareness and reliance on domestic capacities. “When we depend on our own capabilities and pursue our goals with determination, we will certainly achieve them.”
Pezeshkian acknowledged the difficulties facing the Iranian nation, but highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with the neighboring states.
He called for the same spirit of determination and discipline demonstrated by the wrestlers to be applied across all national fields in pursuit of success.
