Araqchi: Israel A Direct Threat to Regional, Global Peace

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned that the Zionist regime poses an immediate and serious threat to regional and international security, calling for coordinated action by the regional states, including the severance of economic and diplomatic ties with Israel.

In a telephone conversation with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani on Wednesday evening, Araqchi strongly condemned the Israeli terrorist aggression against Qatar, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of several Palestinian and Qatari citizens. He also expressed Iran’s solidarity and support for Qatar.

Araqchi denounced the military aggression by the Zionist regime against Qatar as a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international law. He emphasized the necessity of decisive action by regional countries and the international community to hold the Zionist regime accountable for its persistent and egregious breaches of international norms.

Referring to the ongoing Israeli genocidal crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories, its repeated acts of aggression and terrorism against Lebanon, Syria, and Yemen, its criminal attacks against Iran, and the most recent military aggression against Qatar, Araqchi described the Zionist regime as a real and immediate threat to regional and international peace and security.

He stressed that ending the warmongering and crimes of the Zionist regime requires unity and practical coordination among the regional countries, including the severance of all economic and diplomatic ties with this regime.

For his part, the Qatari foreign minister appreciated the messages of solidarity and support from Iran, emphasizing the necessity of awareness and unity -both theoretical and practical- among the Islamic and regional countries in the face of the criminal and law-breaking behavior of the Zionist regime.

He stated that the Qatari government will take all necessary measures to safeguard its national security against the aggression of the Zionist regime.

The Israeli regime on Tuesday struck Hamas’s leadership in the Qatari capital, an act of aggression that has drawn widespread international condemnation.

Hamas confirmed that five of its members, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya, were martyred in the strike. A member of Qatar’s security forces was also killed.
