2025-26 IPL: Esteghlal Edges Tractor
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Esteghlal got revenge on defending champion Tractor 1-0 in the opening match of the 2025-26 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Tuesday.
The Blues had lost to Tractor 2-1 in the 2025 Super Cup in Isfahan.
Mohammad Hossein Eslami scored the winner in the 67th minute in Tabriz’s Bonyan Diesel Stadium.
Malavan drew 1-1 with Sepahan in Bandar Anzali. Arya Yousefi gave visiting Sepahan a lead in the 12th minute and Malavan’s Hossein Sadeghi leveled the score in the 65th minute.
Foolad lost to Chadormalou 1-0 and Esteghlal Khuzestan was held to a 1-1 draw by Shams Azar in Ahvaz.
