Persepolis Held by Fajr Sepasi: 2025-26 IPL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Persepolis football team was held to a 1-1 draw against Fajr Sepasi in its opening match of the 2025-26 Iran Professional League (IPL) on Monday.
In the match, held in Tehran’s Shohada-ye Shahr-e Qods Stadium, Hossein Shahabi gave the visiting team a lead in the 13th minute but right-footed Ali Alipour equalized the match in the stoppage time.
Newly-promoted Paykan defeated Zob Ahan 1-0 in Isfahan, Kheybar came from two goals behind to defeat Mes 3-2 in Khorramabad, and Gol Gohar edged pas Aluminum 1-0 in Sirjan.
On Tuesday, defending champion Tractor will play Esteghlal in Tabriz, Chadormalou host Foolad, Esteghlal Khuzestan play Shams Azar and Malavan face Sepahan in Bandar Anzali.
