Assassination Plot in Doha Foiled without Foreign Intelligence: Hamas Official

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – A senior Hamas official said the resistance’s internal security apparatus successfully thwarted the Israeli regime’s recent attempt to assassinate top leaders in Doha, stressing that the operation was foiled singlehandedly without relying on prior intelligence from foreign sources.

According to the senior security official, the failed Israeli airstrike constituted “the largest foreign assassination attempt in the history of the Zionist regime,” but was neutralized by Hamas security forces.

The results of investigations confirm that the Zionist enemy achieved no breach of the resistance’s security structure, either through human infiltration or technical means, he said.

He emphasized that the operation was foiled without receiving any prior warning or intelligence from outside sources.

The Hamas negotiation team and leadership, the official affirmed, remain in full health and continue to carry out their leadership responsibilities under strict security measures.

The Israeli regime on September 9 struck Hamas’s leadership in the Qatari capital, an act of aggression that has drawn widespread international condemnation.

Hamas confirmed that five of its members, including the son of senior leader Khalil al-Hayya, were martyred in the strike. A member of Qatar’s security forces was also killed.
