Iran’s Habibinejad Knocked Out of 2025 World Boxing Championships

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Ali Habibinejad of Iran was knocked out of the 2025 World Boxing Championships.

He had defeated Italian boxer Gianluigi Malanga 5-0 in the Round of 16 in men’s 65kg but lost to Cuban opponent Erislandy Alvarez on Wednesday in the quarterfinals.

The 2025 World Boxing Championships are being held from September 4 to 14, 2025 at the Liverpool Arena in Liverpool, England.

Hosted by World Boxing, it’s the first edition of the World Boxing Championships and feature both men's and women's events.

Athletes from five continents compete across 20 events.
