Iran Earns Narrow Win over Netherlands: 2025 VNL
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran defeated the Netherlands 3-2 (25-19, 22-25, 21-25, 25-19, 15-9) on Sunday in Week 2 of the Volleyball Nations League (VNL).
Amin Esmaeilnezhad collected 21 points for Iran, while Michiel Ahyi led the Netherlands with 22 points.
Team Melli had previously defeated Serbia and Argentina and lost to Germany in Week 2.
The Persians have a tough task ahead in Week 3, where they will compete against VNL leader Poland, Olympic champion France, China, and Bulgaria in July.
The 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League is the seventh edition of the FIVB Men's Volleyball Nations League, an annual men's international volleyball tournament.
It is being held from June 11 to August 3, 2025, with the final round to take place at the Beilun Gymnasium in Ningbo, China.
