Over 300 New COVID Cases Hospitalized in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients admitted to the hospital across Iran over the past 24 hours stood at around 326, the Health Ministry said on Saturday.

It said the total number of people who have tested positive for COVID-19 infection in the country has exceeded 7.16 million following the detection of 1,887 new cases since yesterday.

Of the new cases detected in the past 24 hours, 326 patients have been admitted to the hospital, according to the ministry.

It put the COVID-19 death toll in Iran at 140,277, saying the disease has taken the lives of 37 patients over the past 24 hours.

At least 6,88 million patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the figures released by the ministry show.

So far, more than 63.93 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 56.9 million have received the second dosage, and more than 26.25 million have gotten the booster shots.

Worldwide, the number of those infected with COVID-19 has exceeded 490 million and the death toll is above 6.17 million.
