Iran Among Ten Top Countries in Fighting COVID-19: Health Minister
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iranian Health Minister Bahram Einollahi highlighted the country’s successes in the fight against the coronavirus.
The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized Iran as one of the top countries in countering COVID-19, he said during a visit to a hospital in Tehran.
In terms of confronting the infectious disease, it can be said that Iran is the top country in the region and among the top ten in the world, Einollahi added.
One of the Islamic Republic’s major achievements in this regard is the production of home-grown coronavirus vaccines, the Health Minister stated.
Currently, six Iranian companies are making the vaccines in the country, he said.
Although there were some problems in treating patients at the beginning of the arrival of the virus, Iran now has managed to acquire the needed equipment such as ventilators as well as medicines used in treatment of COVID-19 patients, Einollahi went on to say.
