Coronavirus in Iran: Daily Deaths Drop to 20
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus in Iran decreased again on Monday, standing at 20.
According to the figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Monday, the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country has reached 132,095, as the disease has taken the lives of 20 patients over the past 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, 3,163 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 338 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.
More than 6,066,800 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,224,000 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.
Some 1,300 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.
The ministry also said that over 60.35 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 53.19 million have received the second dosage, and more than 12.85 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 328 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.55 million.
