COVID Daily Deaths in Iran Drop to below 20
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily death toll from the coronavirus in Iran was down to 18 on Saturday, while fewer than 200 patients have been hospitalized across the country.
The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Saturday have marked one of the lowest daily deaths from the pandemic since its outbreak.
The ministry put the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country at 132,044, saying the disease has taken the lives of 18 patients over the past 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, 1,421 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 194 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.
More than 6,062,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,218,700 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.
Some 1,369 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.
The ministry also said that over 60.28 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 53.06 million have received the second dosage, and more than 12.2 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 324 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.54 million.
