Over Six Million Recover from COVID in Iran
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – More than six million coronavirus positive cases have recovered from the infectious disease in Iran, the Health Ministry said.
The figures released by the ministry on Sunday indicate that 1,968 new cases of COVID-19 infection have been reported across the country over the past 24 hours, with 304 of them hospitalized.
More than 6,004,200 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,170,900 who have contracted the disease, the ministry added.
It put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 131,083, saying the disease has taken the lives of 50 patients over the past 24 hours.
Some 2,876 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it said.
The ministry also said that over 59.12 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 50.34 million have received the second dosage, and more than 3.77 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 274 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.36 million.
