COVID Daily Death Toll in Iran Stands at 77
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The daily deaths from the coronavirus in Iran decreased again on Monday, standing at 77.
The figures released by the Iranian Health Ministry on Monday have marked one of the lowest daily deaths from the pandemic in the past 9 months.
The ministry put the total deaths from COVID-19 in the country at 130,277, saying the disease has taken the lives of 77 patients over the past 24 hours.
Over the past 24 hours, 3,356 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 559 of them hospitalized, the ministry added.
More than 5,930,000 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 6,137,800 ones who have contracted the disease, it said.
Some 3,232 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities, it added.
The ministry also said that over 58.19 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, over 48.34 million have received the second dosage, and more than 1.39 million have gotten the booster shots.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 266 million and the death toll has exceeded 5.27 million.
