Coronavirus in Iran: Daily Death Toll Still Above 500
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients who have died in Iran over the past 24 hours has once again exceeded 500.
The death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic in Iran has risen to 96,742, the Health Ministry announced on Friday, saying 527 Iranians have succumbed to the deadly disease in the last 24 hours.
Over the last 24 hours, 39,119 new cases of COVID-19 infection were reported, with 4,707 of them hospitalized, the Ministry added.
More than 3,674,500 individuals have recovered or been discharged from hospitals out of a total of 3,826,447 sick people, it noted.
Some 7,154 victims of COVID-19 are in severe condition and are being treated in intensive care facilities.
The Ministry also said that more than 14.44 million Iranians have received the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine, while over 3.61 million have received the second dosage.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 205 million and the death toll has exceeded 4.34 million.
