COVID Pandemic in Iran: Hospital Admissions below 1,000
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The number of coronavirus patients admitted to hospitals across Iran over the past 24 hours has dropped to below 1,000, the Health Ministry said.
The Health Ministry’s spokeswoman said at a press conference on Sunday that 944 of the new coronavirus cases detected in the past 24 hours have been admitted to the hospital.
Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of people tested positive for COVID-19 infection in Iran has exceeded 3,095,000 following the detection of 8,161 new cases since yesterday.
More than 2,748,300 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or have been discharged from hospitals across Iran, the spokeswoman added.
She further put the death toll from COVID-19 in Iran at 82,965, saying the disease has taken the lives of 111 patients over the past 24 hours.
Among those undergoing treatment in medical centers at present, 3,279 coronavirus patients have critical health conditions because of more severe infection, Lari noted.
The spokeswoman also said more than 22.44 million coronavirus diagnostic tests have been carried out in Iran so far and over 4.38 million people have received the first dose of coronavirus vaccine.
The number of people infected with COVID-19 across the world has surpassed 179 million and the death toll has exceeded 3.87 million.
