Iran, Spain FMs Urge Global Action on Gaza Crisis

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi met Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares Bueno on Tuesday in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

The top diplomats reviewed bilateral relations and discussed ways to expand cooperation in areas of mutual interest.

They also exchanged views on regional and international developments, focusing on the worsening humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Both officials called for urgent international measures to end the blockade of Gaza, halt the genocide, and safeguard the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination.

Araqchi praised Spain’s role in opposing genocide and violations of international law in Gaza.

He stressed that all governments share a duty under international law and humanitarian principles to hold perpetrators of crimes and threats to global peace accountable.

Araqchi is in New York for the annual United Nations General Assembly, where world leaders and top diplomats gather to address global issues and hold high-level meetings.
