Iran Beats Serbia to Advance to 2025 FIVB World Championship QFs
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Iran battled past Serbia in a five-set thriller (23-25, 25-19, 24-26, 25-22, 15-9) at the 2025 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship on Tuesday.
Team Melli will face the Czech Republic on Thursday in the competition’s quarter-finals.
The US will also play Bulgaria and the winner will play the winner of the Iran and Czech match in the semifinals.
Furthermore, Poland will play Turkey, while Italy face Belgium in the quarterfinals.
Italy is the defending champion, having won its fourth title in 2022.
Taking place in Manila, the Philippines, the championship features 32 teams from across the world competing for the coveted title.
