Qatar PM Meets Trump following Israeli Aggression on Doha

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani met US President Donald Trump in New York following Israel’s bloody strike on Doha earlier this week.

The attack, carried out by the Tel Aviv regime, targeted a Hamas meeting in the Qatari capital, killing a Qatari security officer and five Hamas officials. The meeting had reportedly been convened to discuss a deal proposed by Trump to end the Gaza war.

Sheikh Mohammed, who also serves as Qatar’s foreign minister, has since launched a wave of diplomatic activity in Washington. His engagement reflects Doha’s efforts to confront the political fallout of Israel’s unprovoked aggression.

Al Jazeera reported that Friday’s meeting with Trump would continue discussions on Israel’s assault against Doha and on the wider negotiations aimed at halting Tel Aviv’s relentless war on Gaza.

The exact details of the dinner remain undisclosed, but Trump is currently staying at Trump Tower in Manhattan.

This week exposed Washington’s contradictory stance. While the United States joined other members of the UN Security Council in condemning Israel’s deadly strike on Qatar, it simultaneously reaffirmed its loyalty to Tel Aviv.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is traveling to occupied Palestine this weekend, ahead of a UN summit where several Western nations are expected to recognize a Palestinian state. His visit underscores Washington’s enduring bias, as he vowed to combat what he called “anti-Israel actions” and to block unilateral recognition of Palestinian sovereignty.

Despite the Trump administration’s shielding of Israel, global calls for collective action are gaining momentum. France and Saudi Arabia have pressed for an immediate end to the Gaza bloodshed and for a just resolution to the Palestinian issue.

The genocidal war waged by the Israeli regime on Gaza has already killed more than 64,756 people. Yet Washington continues to justify Tel Aviv’s crimes under the guise of “shared goals,” including ensuring Hamas never governs Gaza again and preventing international recognition of Palestinian statehood.
