Syrians Rally in Damascus Demanding Rise against Israel, Liberation of Golan

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds of Syrians gathered in Damascus Sunday, calling for armed struggle against Israel and the liberation of the occupied Golan Heights.

Videos circulating on social media, particularly among Palestinian and Syrian users, showed large crowds rallying in the Hamidiyah market in the Syrian capital. Demonstrators chanted slogans in solidarity with Gaza and urged immediate support for Palestinians under Israeli assault.

Protesters emphasized two key demands: “The people want the declaration of jihad” and “The people want the liberation of the Golan.”

Israel occupied part of the Golan Heights during the 1967 war and unilaterally annexed it in 1981, a move rejected by the international community.
