Protesters in Paris Denounce Israeli Genocide, Famine in Gaza
TEHRAN (Tasnim) – Hundreds gathered in central Paris on Monday to condemn Israeli genocide and a deliberately organized famine in Gaza, denouncing the Zionist regime for committing war crimes with the complicity of Western governments.
Demonstrators assembled at Place Saint-Michel following a call by the France Palestine Solidarity Association (AFPS) under the slogan: “Stop the genocide in Gaza and the organized famine! Sanctions against Israel!”
In its statement, the group accused the French government and the European Union of enabling Israeli crimes by refusing to impose a ceasefire or sanctions.
“Let us denounce the complicity of the French government and the European Union, who refuse to impose a ceasefire and put in place sanctions, thus allowing Israel to continue to violate international law day after day, with complete impunity,” the AFPS declared.
The association highlighted the urgent need to save Palestinians from what it called massacres and starvation, demanding sanctions against Israel and the resumption of admissions for Gaza’s students to foreign universities.
“Words are no longer enough, the French government must take political, diplomatic and economic sanctions against Israel now and stop attacking those who denounce the ongoing genocide and Israel's crimes,” it said.
Since October 2023, Israel’s assault has killed more than 62,000 Palestinians in Gaza, leaving the besieged enclave in ruins and pushing its population into famine.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former war minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Israel also stands accused of genocide at the International Court of Justice for its ongoing war on Gaza.
